Matt Volmert
Matt Volmert serves as Chief Executive Officer of Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill, bringing deep, hands-on knowledge of every aspect of the operation to his leadership role. As the eldest son of founders Dan and Julie Volmert, Matt grew up in the business and began working for the brand at an early age. Over more than 20 years, he worked his way through every level of the organization—starting with basic restaurant tasks and progressing through kitchen operations and management—gaining a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to run successful restaurants.
In 2017, Matt assumed the role of CEO, carrying forward the values on which Hotshots was built: hard work, teamwork, and a strong sense of family. He is committed to supporting franchise partners, fostering a collaborative culture, and welcoming new operators into the Hotshots family as the brand continues to grow.
Michael Wilshire
Michael Wilshire joined Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill in 2009 and has been a driving force behind operational excellence across the brand. Over the years, he has served as a General Manager and Trainer at six affiliate locations, consistently improving sales, profitability, and team performance. Each location he managed was left well-positioned for continued success under new leadership.
Now serving as Franchise Operations Director, Michael is responsible for training all new managers on the Hotshots operating system, with a strong focus on maximizing sales and driving profitability across every area of the P&L. He also works closely with vendor partners to strategize and develop promotions that enhance the guest experience, increase traffic, and keep customers coming back.
Jason Durnett
Jason Durnett brings more than 20 years of franchising experience to Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill. He partners closely with franchise owners to support strategic growth, brand development, marketing, franchise sales, site selection, lease negotiations, project management, and training. Jason has worked with franchise systems across the United States and has been a key part of the Hotshots brand since 2010, helping guide expansion and long-term success.
Prior to his franchising career, Jason spent 15 years in the hospitality industry, holding leadership roles including Beverage Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and Regional Manager. During the final seven years of that tenure, he specialized in opening new locations and revitalizing underperforming restaurants—traveling nationwide to stabilize operations and return distressed properties to profitability.
Justin Boyd
Justin Boyd has served as Director of Marketing and Digital Assets for Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill since 2014. He leads all brand marketing, digital strategy, and promotional initiatives, leveraging deep experience in media buying, social media, content creation, sponsorships, and campaign execution. From professional sports partnerships and broadcast advertising to social media, graphic design, print, and in-store promotions, Justin oversees a fully integrated marketing approach designed to drive traffic and build brand loyalty.
Prior to joining Hotshots, Justin was Vice President of Web Operations for insideSTL.com and 590 AM KFNS Radio in St. Louis, and also served as Director of Operations for AK Music Management and Promotions. He works directly with franchisees to support local marketing efforts, create engaging content, and implement strategies that increase guest counts, strengthen community presence, and grow sales.
